WishWish gift cards on the Downtown Mall!

The Blue Ridge Country Store, a favorite of downtown lunch-goers, has $25 – $150 WishWish gift cards for sale! The Blue Ridge Country Store epitomizes what a “local” shop should be. It looks the part with an old-timey fascia and  feels the part with worn wooden floors and pot belly stove flanked by rocking chairs. Giving Happiness

When I was growing up camping, I was taught to leave the camp site better than I found it. Since then, I have made this part of my belief system; I believe that it is important to leave the world, country, state or city a little better when I leave. Generally, I do this through volunteering. Apparently Charlottesville is a great place to do that. According to the Center for Nonprofit Excellence, there are approximately 1,000 nonprofits in the greater Charlottesville region.

We’ve been asked why donating money is listed as an experience for WishWish. The answer is simple, it makes you happy. As noted yesterday, volunteering makes people happy (and is a great way to do team building). But even the act of giving money to help the community can make you feel happy.

There are currently three nonprofits on our site.
