Rainy Wedding Day … Have Fun!

Keswick Hall Aaron Watson

Rainy wedding day … grab an umbrella and have fun!

With all of the rain that we’ve been getting over the past few days it reminds me how important it is to hire a photographer who can make any situation beautiful! Instead of dreading a rainy wedding day why not embrace it and have fun! We’ve seen many different circumstances from rainy days, to ice storms, and 114 degree heat! It can be a challenge, but some of my favorite pictures have come from these diverse situations. I encourage every bride and groom looking for a wedding photographer to hire someone who includes these types of pictures in their portfolio. If the photographer feels that they can make some of their best work in the worst of circumstances (so much so that they include it in their portfolio) then you can be confident that they will be able to handle anything on your wedding day!

Sara & Erik by Jack Looney Photography

A big thanks to Jack Looney for sharing Sara & Erik’s October wedding at King Family Vineyards with us! They wanted their wedding theme to be ‘food and fun’ and it looks like they pulled that off perfectly! I just love the bocce ball, ‘Wedding Libs’ and adorable canned beets for favors! Enjoy!

Stephanie & Dave’s Charlottesville Wedding with Meg Runion Studios

Many thanks to the talented Meg of Meg Runion Studios (a recent bride herself!) for sharing Stephanie & Dave’s warm and wonderful wedding with us today.  I rarely comment on bridal gowns but I just have to say that I love Stephanie’s gown… maybe because it has just a touch of fairytale princess :-) and seems to float along as she walks.  Hope you enjoy these lovely images as much as I am!

Tips and Inspiration for Bridesmaid Dresses

To a bride, her bridesmaids are her best friends; her sisters; the ones that will stand beside her as she takes the next step of her life. When the time comes for a bride to choose the dresses for her bridesmaids, she wants to pick ones that will represent them and make them feel beautiful. At the same time they have to match the wedding colors and be appropriate for the season. I think it’s safe to say that picking bridesmaid dresses can be a challenge! We have been lucky over this past year to have photographed a lot of weddings with amazing dresses and accessories so today we want to offer some inspiration and tips to choose the best for your bridal party!

Enjoy,
